Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

Green Day at School!
When we explained that today would be "Green Day" at school, Elizabeth somehow got the idea that the school (building?) itself would be that color. We had some serious re-explaining to do!
Isn't she CUTE?!

What a God we serve!
The following verses from Isaiah 55 keep coming to mind... Yesterday Dad sent the following adaptation, including the last verse and adding emphasis in bold font. (Thank-you!)
Maybe pioneer missionary William Carey was also meditating on such passages when he said:
"The future is as bright as the promises of God!"

As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower
and bread for the eater,
so is my Word
that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose
for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands . . . and it shall be
to the LORD
for a name,
for an everlasting sign
that shall not be cut off.
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower
and bread for the eater,
so is my Word

inspired by snow and rain
Maybe it's the abundant rain and snow we received this weekend following the extended period of drought we'd been experiencing here in the Upstate... Maybe it's the letters we received from both sets of parents ministering abroad the message of salvation in Christ alone... Maybe it's a combination of the two that has caused me to think on the following verses from Isaiah 55...
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower
and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands...
And the song inspired by these verses (on the Depths of Mercy CD from ShowForth) is also a great blessing...

thankful for – SNOW!
We enjoyed a blustery day (starting late yesterday) – that turned into a blustery night with wind and snow and ice...
...and a visit from a Tigger, too!
(You ARE familiar with that story from Winnie the Pooh, aren't you?!)
Our tallest eucalyptus tree didn't do too well with all the wind... And on much more minor note, neither did our snowman... But we had fun!
