Happy (Half) B-Days!

A esta altura, es tradición en esta familia...

Así que, hoy celebramos el “medio” cumple de Eli.

Primero, pasamos por la AUF para dejar “Un cuento celeste” (escrito por Eli).

Después fuimos a su confitería preferida para disfrutar de café con leche y otras cositas ricas.

Y en la parada de ómnibus, descubrimos parte de nuestra rica historia de fútbol:

“Por este pórtico pasó la primer Copa del Mundo”

“Julio 1930”

Y esta noche descubrí que ayer fue el 85^o aniversario de la conquista de Uruguay del Mundial de 1930.

Terminamos haciendo mandados en el Shopping Tres Cruces, donde (según DJ) es obligación comprar pororó acaramelado.

Parece que fue un día exitoso.

A fines de abril celebramos el “medio” cumple de DJ con s’mores; hacía poco habíamos decidido que encontrábamos todos los ingredientes en el supermercado aquí: marshmallows de sabor vainilla, chocolate (marca “Garoto”) y Marías Doradas (marca “Gullón” de España).

¡Qué felicidad!

Pray for us! (July Ministry Report)

We sent our quarterly ministry report via email at the beginning of July, and I’m finally posting a synopsis here.

Headlines for the past three months include the baptism of three more teens from Iglesia Bíblica Maranatha (in Pando), my Dad and Pat making a permanent move to the US, and our making a quick (and mostly educationally related) trip to the Carolinas.

Remembering three years ago...

“I’ve officially fallen in love with Utah!”

S0 I commented to JM in July three years ago, while hiking down from the crest of a mountain at Snow Basin.

He teased that he thought I was again telling him:

“I’ve officially fallen in love with YOU!”

(We found the “Uruguayan Sun” in Ogden Valley, UT!)

¡Llegando a MVD!

We’re home!

Our flight arrived almost two hours late, following a slightly altered route and giving us the best aerial view we’ve ever gotten of the city!

We flew in from the northwest and out over the Río de la Plata and then back in…

We were pleased to be able to identify lots of known landmarks...

When DJ saw the Estadio Centenario, he exclaimed:

That’s where our house is!
