Sonidos Serranos

Sonidos Serranos: Sounds of the Sierras...
Reflecting some of my family's interests: God's wonderful creation (especially mountains and hills!), music, and language...

Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

Happy Birthday, Dear Marcos!

Marcos turns twelve today...

The cousins on May 17, enjoying a late spring evening!

We're so thankful for dear friends, who (at the very last minute during a very busy week) helped to put together an early birthday party for Marcos. In God's providence, every detail for the last-minute idea came together in truly remarkable ways, and the celebration took place on Thursday, March 24 (one day before Jona started having great difficulty breathing).

Bittersweet memories...

[I'll try to post more pictures of that party later. I must now finish packing for our three-month trip to Uruguay!]

I'm sure today was tough day for everyone. Will be praying for you as I fall asleep tonight. Happy birthday to Marcos. (And praise the Lord for those that put the party together--precious memories that will be cherished forever.)

Our homeroom (8-4) prayed for your family everyday this year(and continue too). Happy Birthday to Marcos! Looking forward to spending time with you in PE class...but not too soon. We need to enjoy summer vacation! :)

Continuing to pray for the family...b/c it is impossible to pray for people for 20-some months and then forget about them. I was really hoping that God would allow Jona, a young man I never knew first-hand, to stay here on earth. If it was His will. Godly people, young or old, are rare. My comfort is that, in heaven, Jona is free from danger and sin. He has perfect protection from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And I'm encouraged that, Lord willing, spiritual fruit still results from Jona's trial. Praise the Lord for His goodness!
