Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

Campamento “DAVyD”
Eight days ago,
our summer camp season officially ended with the last morning session of MEU’s
annual Workers’ Camp. JM and I were privileged to work (and play!) with the “Kid
Missionaries” this year – in what we hope was only the first of many such undertakings.
With the help of
three of the MKs, we came up with the acronym “DAVyD” (in Spanish).
Divirtiéndonos...
Apoyando a nuestras familias…
Valorando la Palabra y la obra de Dios...
y
Descubriendo su creación...
The video (of the photos
we took during those three and a half days) highlights our activities – and especially
our craft times, music classes, and nature hikes! (The music is repetitious, but the MKs won ’t mind! ¡Gracias a ÉL! was the theme song for our mini-camp...)
Please pray for
these “Kid Missionaries” and the families and ministries they represent!

Happy B-Day [Soccer] Party!
Here are ten snapshots
from our Soccer Party – in honor of our avid soccer fan’s birthday! J
It was a simple affair, shared with family and a few friends from camp.
¡Feliz
Cumple!

“¡Campa de Familias!”
I’m looking
forward to getting a CD with “official” camp photos. Meanwhile, here are some
random snapshots from my perspective... J
Riding the tractor
is always a highlight!
We always enjoy the flora and fauna.
(And I enjoy taking pictures...)
The frogs peeking out of their lairs provided great entertainment.
Can you find the
praying mantis?
DJ enjoyed his
first solo ride on the land trolley.
And playing in the sand is always fun!
“PineCone
Man!”
The chefs became our heroes in the children’s class!
There was an inverted rainbow as the sun set on the last day...
We
love the camp ministry!

Remembering “Miss B”
While we were out last Saturday evening my brother texted, wondering
if we’d seen the fb post shared by a mutual friend about “a teacher from BJA.”
So JM got online via Kindle at the restaurant, where we were celebrating E’s
birthday...
I’m still trying to absorb the news...
Not only was Kim Bierman an immense blessing to Jona and then to our extended family during Jona’s days battling cancer, she was also my former
coworker and personal friend: one of those dear friends who, no matter how much time had passed, I could always easily pick back up with...
A friend who always had a
ready laugh and an encouraging word...
After
the huge initial shock upon reading the news, I tried to imagine the reunion
between “Miss B” and Jona...
[In March 2011 she alluded to that reunion and gave me permission to post “Heaven’s Teardrops” in April 2011 on this blog.]

Today I remember her with these pictures, which capture her essence...
Kim with Jona’s parents at what would have been
his senior class party in May 2013
And I’m thankful beyond words for the many ways her friendship enriched my life over the years...
