Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

thankful – for Skype!
By God’s grace, we’re often reminded to be thankful for modern technology. There are moments, of course, when we wish we could live unencumbered by its accompanying problems! But for our extended family, continents apart, Skype has been an extra special blessing.
We had no way of knowing on New Year’s Day 2009 that Skype would become so important to us; it was on that evening that we helped “los Abu” in Uruguay first get set up with Skype.
We’re thankful for those memories:
Jona helped Elizabeth so she could get a better view.
And as we celebrated almost two years later, Skype again spanned the distance across continents – and we sang Christmas carols together.
We will forever cherish memories of singing: “O Holy Night!”
As we celebrated Elizabeth’s birthday this year, Skype once again played a role. DJM was especially excited to see “los Abu” – and we now suspect that he thinks they live in the computer!
Yes, we’re thankful for “small” moments that have become so significant...

I also remember when we first got set up with Skype...
Elizabeth was two, and JM's parents had gone back overseas. The first time we talked to them via Skype, she tried to reach out and hug her PaPa around the neck! When her hands ran into the computer screen, she was so confused...
