Sonidos Serranos

Sonidos Serranos: Sounds of the Sierras...
Reflecting some of my family's interests: God's wonderful creation (especially mountains and hills!), music, and language...

Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

Christmas Memories...

On Christmas Day, the Uruguay Cousins were able to make the now “traditional” Tree Cookie – thanks to a small cookie cutter set (5 sizes of stars) we picked up last year.

It’s smaller, but it works!

We connected via Skype with family in Florida, Canada, and South Carolina. Technology can be such a blessing!

Christmas weekend was occupied with programs – Saturday morning in Montevideo and Sunday morning in Pando.

JM and DJ sang a duet (“Eran cien ovejas”) as part of the simple program at our church in Pando.

So many blessings!

We’re thankful – most of all – for the Greatest Blessing:

I cannot tell how silently He suffered,
As with His peace He graced this place of tears,
Or how upon the cross His heart was broken,
The crown of pain to three and thirty years.

But this I know: He heals the broken-hearted
And stays our sin and calms our lurking fear
And lifts the burden from the heavy laden,
For yet the Saviour, Saviour of the world, is here.
