Sonidos Serranos

Sonidos Serranos: Sounds of the Sierras...
Reflecting some of my family's interests: God's wonderful creation (especially mountains and hills!), music, and language...

Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

Great Visit with Great-Gramma!

It was a whirlwind trip! But we thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Gramma, as well as the sights and the sites on the way there... We were encouraged by our time with Gramma, and we trust we were an encouragement to her as well...

Highlights for Elizabeth included playing with the Sesame Street Club House (the same one her Daddy and his siblings and cousins played with growing up!), racing around outside the farm house, "helping" her Daddy with the riding mower, and "reading" her favorite book (Duh Wed Wipe Stwahbehwee!) to her Great-Gramma.

I'm so thankful my little girl can spend time with a great-grandparent; it's a privilege I never had opportunity to enjoy.

Another highlight for all of us was stopping at the Creation Museum ("The Dinosaur Store" in Elizabethan) on the way. Thanks, Tatá, for telling us about the new Petting Zoo! There's no charge for admission, and it's a perfect place to break up a long trip – if you're in the area but don't have the time to see everything there.

And on another "potty break" we discovered a piece of old Indiana history. Pretty cool!

I wondered if it was an old church – John Mark guessed a school house. When I walked around the building, I saw the sign on the front. It reads:

School House No. 2
Built by Jasper Heck
Trustee of Liberty
Township 1875

If those walls could talk...

Another discovery I made (just today) is that Picasa 3 allows me to create collages in 4x6 size! That means I can print the collages here and send them to Gramma! Pretty cool technology! (And Picasa is free!)
