Sonidos Serranos

Sonidos Serranos: Sounds of the Sierras...
Reflecting some of my family's interests: God's wonderful creation (especially mountains and hills!), music, and language...

Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

Look who’s getting older!

Thursday marked three weeks since our arrival in Uruguay. In some ways, it seems longer. Weve been busy in many good (but also tiring) ways.

Its been three months since I last posted “milestone” pictures of DJM. (Where does time go?!) So, this will be an attempt at a (brief) catch-up post.

DJM is growing by leaps and bounds! We did our best to weigh him on Uncle Daniels scale, and – trying to take squirming into account – were guessing that he now weighs between 9.1 and 9.5 kilograms (i.e. between 20 and 21 pounds!) He finally (in the last week or so) became interested – avidly interested – in solid food. (We had nicknamed him Milk Baby; he was waking me three and even four times per night – genuinely hungry!)

Butternut squash, carrot-sweet potatoes, bananas, and apples, and a bite or two of chicken (all home-cooked!) – in addition to prepared oat cereals – have comprised the menu so far...

Unlike his sister who started crawling at six months, he is as of yet seemingly not at all interested in becoming mobile in that way...

As for temperament: He continues to be as smiley as ever, and he recently began showing a very, uh, shall we say “determined” bent – and in very vocal ways! (Ahem! Its definitely in the genes on both sides of the family – and a lot closer on the family tree than Adam and Eve are!)

Well, here are some “milestone” pictures – the real reason for blog posts of this nature, eh?

5 months old with his beloved Jona!
A snapshot we will treasure forever!

6 months old – with JellyCat, as usual!

Were not sure how “tall” he is, but hes been wearing many 9M clothes for a while now!

We took advantage of a great coupon and got some professional photos, too!

Hes now getting two more teeth – on the top!

7 months old – in Uruguay!
But, Mommy, this isnt the usual lion!

Were thankful – beyond words for our multi-cultural little people!

Were working hard on Spanish and Elizabeth started English reading lessons this week! (Ill be posting more on that exciting aspect of family life as soon as I can make time to do so...)

Well then, he's got Timothy beat in the teeth department. :-) Timothy's still got his 2 on the bottom that he proudly shows off. It doesn't really seem to stop him from eating us out of house and home. The other day he put away 3 waffles. What! Paul struggles to finish one.

Our schedule is filling up. Looks like we'll be in NYC for several weeks, so we'll probably be there when you guys get back. But we'll be in this area around Christmas time for sure. . . Crocker 5 is scheduled to show up December 13.

Praying for you all!

Andrea
