Last week twenty-three pastors, missionaries, and other church leaders gathered in Paysandú, Uruguay, to take advantage of a long-dreamed of opportunity: the first in a series of college-level block courses for pastors (and others already in full-time ministry) offered by FEBU (Facultad de Estudios Bíblicos del Uruguay).
El Mate
Amigo – siempre presente…
(Our
friend mate [mah-teh] – was always present…)
There were many (very literal!) “Round Table” discussions…
We also made some memories as a family...
We enjoyed the traditional, regional dessert: Postre Chajá…
…looked across the Río Uruguay to Argentina on the other side…
…grew more fond of our fútbol than ever… DJ expressed great concern that the daily soccer scrimmages started without the singing of “¡Orientales, la patria o la tumba!” (i.e. the national anthem!)
...grew to love our Vanessa more than ever...
...made our own fun, running all over the camp, playing with a new little friend.
We now look forward to the blessings of FEBU’s second semester, starting this evening.
Pray with us for the success of the Gospel of Christ in Uruguay. And rejoice with us because our God delights to answer those prayers!
